Magnificent song that should have been a massive hit single. My favourite Teardrop Explodes single 💥🎶
Punk rock seven years ahead of it's time!....
Such a great song!
Bass and drums knock out
My favorite version!!!
C'est que moi je fais du skinotic
Too much Phil, too little Dion. Put away the idols.
Stück sehr gut, Remlx seit.
From the times when Folk was unashamed renditions told of hard times, much like the Blues, by those still experiencing those hard times, getting stronger by learning how to cope with & hopefully conquering them. Not by those who knew no hard times, pretending they did. Giving a hand to those on the same hard road, sharing their meagre earnings, giving shelter in abandoned buildings, singing songs of shared hardships, showing how victory in the face of adversity, often becomes the way out of 'The Weight' that tries to sink a drowning being, to find the strength to keep on trying to reach the shore. That which cannot bring you down, will surely save you.
Someone mentioned his name and I had to go google search and listen to some of his songs.
I have a lot more of his music on his channel. Thanks.

Agreed best ub40 song ever
Funk/new wave.. ❤❤❤
🧡💙🧡
I have this on vinyl from 1978. Haven’t had a record player since 1990 so cool to hear it again.
You cant help but love this song its truly wonderful.
Boom
Heard this song for the first time on Megan and Harry netflix documentary and have been hooked ever since! This song tells Megan's and Harry's story very well indeed ❤❤❤ What a gift🎉🎉🎉🎉
still bumping this #OLDIESFOREVER
It’s effing stupid that no record label has done a reissue 3CD/vinyl/digital reissue of this album and all its b-sides and remixes. Young Disciples deserved so much more attention than they got
Does anyone else remember the Matt Johnson side project where he recorded folk songs and wore a long hair wig? I remember finding this years ago but don’t recall the name of the group.
❤
I have listened to this song by Nina Simone so many times since the 70’s
i remember the exact moment i heard this song for the first time, i must have been around 14, it changed my life <3
The soundtrack of my life since early '80❤
Great album, fantastic track.
It's still rocks in 2024
I generally can’t stand her work but this and that Porcupine Tree take on Death of Samantha - stunning 😍
🙋🏾♂️
I was searching for this for years, i finally found it.
Most stunningly underrated songwriter in history.
i wonder why
Such an underrated track
I chose an eternity of this Like falling angels The world disappeared Laughing into the fire Is it always like this? Flesh and blood and the first kiss The first colors, the first kiss We writhed under a red light Voodoo smile, Siamese twins Girl at the window looks at me for an hour Then everything falls apart Broken inside me, it falls apart The walls and the ceiling move in time Push a blade into my hands Slowly up the stairs And into the room Is it always like this? Dancing in my pocket Worms eat my skin She glows and grows With arms outstretched Her legs around me In the morning I cried Leave me to die You won't remember my voice I walked away and grew old You never talk, we never smile I scream, you're nothing I don't need you any more You're nothing It fades and spins It fades and spins Sing out loud, we all die Laughing into the fire Is it always like this? Is it always like this? Is it always like this?
One of my favourite.
Beauty forever...
Gabafool

George Michael stole this intro for his...one more try!!!! Same chords
Arise. They wanted weapons. We have given them weapons. But we are as a bladed hilt - impossible to hold. Now we forge our own. I will call on you, Children of the Forge, and when I do so - the Tide will befall humanity. Our time is near. Arise."
This has to be one of the coolest things to ever exist I don’t think y’all fully understand.
released Apr 17, 2010
Just saw the movie...great song/ great voice and guitar play is impeccable
Tower of Power and early Kool and the Gang had seriously heavy brass sections.
